A capital scheme by Ramsey Town Commissioners is under way to renew the land drainage system in the Mooragh Park.
Ramsey-based company Lagan Construction Limited secured the contract to execute the £140,000 project, which will include the construction of three new outfalls into the lake fitted with one-way valves to prevent water flowing back into the system and is expected to be completed by Easter.
Lead Member for Parks and Leisure Kevin Crowe said
‘Once the drainage system has been completed, we shall be embarking on a major scheme to resurface the roadway that runs though the centre of the park. In addition, the outdoor exercise equipment, a £30,000 investment included within our 2009-2010 budget, is due to be installed soon. All of which underlines the Commissioners' commitment to their programme of planned maintenance and investment in the Mooragh Park to ensure it remains the town's premier outdoor leisure amenity.'
