This gallery documents the recent history of what was previously the site of the original "Cusha" shop and Arnold Moore's property on the corner of East Street and Parliament Street.
Planning consent exists for redevelopment of the site however until work can commence the site owner has been supportive in allowing the creation of an open public area, with seating, funded by the Town and Village Regeneration Fund. More recently agreement was given to the commissioning of a mural by local artist Michael Starkey, which has been a source of considerable discussion in the town.
The improvements to this site have brightened up an area which had been unused for a number of years and has obtained the widespread support of the community, and which would not have been possible without the consent of the landowner.
