Progress on the transformation of Old Post Lane, Courier Office Lane and Collins Lane features in the second issue of ‘Improving Ramsey' the newsletter issued by the Ramsey regeneration committee.
In his leader, Ramsey regeneration chairman Allan Bell MHK outlines the work being carried out to transform the three lanes from ‘dark and dreary passageways to bright, smart walkways', the partnerships being formed between the private and public sectors to improve the town's overall appearance and highlights proposals for the second phase which will focus on the area around the Courthouse and Market Hill. Mr Bell goes on to point out that efforts to bring a ‘smarter, vibrant feel to the town centre' include offering regeneration funding for improving the external appearance of properties within or abutting the regeneration area. Properties to benefit from the fund to date include 7 and 8 Victoria Buildings, Affinity Crystals and Feltons in Parliament Street, Travelworld at the corner of Water Street and Peel Street and Spice of India, Peel Street.
