The Ramsey Town Commissioners act as Agent to the Department of Transport in relation to all functions under the Sewerage Act within the Town of Ramsey.
Any new communication to a public sewer must be inspected by the Commissioners' Officer, or an agent of the Commissioners, whilst the drains and chambers are still exposed. The making of any connection without the approval of the Drainage Authority or its agent is an offence, it may result in prosecution and the drains may be refused for adoption by the Drainage Authority.
The Commission is responsible for maintenance and administration of the sewers including the levying of charges for sewer connections or communications with the sewer system.
