Ramsey Town Commissioners are delighted to announce the awarding of leases to operate the Mooragh Park Lake and Boathouse Café.

Mansail’s lease to operate the Mooragh Lake and games concession has been renewed following their successful management of the lake during the previous lease period.

Conrods Pizzeria has been awarded a lease for the Boathouse Café.  This will see the existing Boathouse Café converted to a 42 cover pizzeria.

The selection of Conrods and Mansail follows an advertised tender exercise.  Following detailed discussions between the Commission, Conrods and Mansail the new leases will commence on 1st April 2020 for a period of seven years.

Andy Cowie, Chairman of Ramsey Town Commissioners, commented “We are very pleased that the tender exercise has resulted in leases being awarded to Mansail and Conrods.

Mansail has successfully operated the Mooragh Lake and games concession for many years and we look forward continuing to work closely with the team and their clients for the benefit of the town.   I would also like to record our thanks to Mansail for the professional way they have operated the Boathouse Café during the current lease.

We welcome a new partner, Conrods Pizzeria, to the Mooragh Park and look forward to the transformation of the Boathouse café. A new Pizzeria will be popular with existing users of the Park and we hope that it will also attract new visitors to enjoy the Mooragh during the extended opening hours.  The addition of Conrod’s will complement the service available from the already popular Costa Coffee which operates at the Lakeside Centre.

The awarding of these leases builds on the investment the Commission continue to make in the Mooragh Park. Our parks staff put in a tremendous effort last year which resulted in the Park being awarded the prestigious  Green Flag award by ‘Keep Britain Tidy’. This year will also see the commencement of a phased refurbishment of the very popular water play feature.   We will also continue our phased maintenance and refurbishment of the equipment and facilities within the Park.

Mooragh Park, like Ramsey Town Centre, has ample free parking and is easily accessible via pubic transport and on foot from the Town Centre.”

Conor Cummins commented We are excited to open our new Conrod’s Pizzeria at the boat house. It’s an iconic location with lots of heritage and as Ramsey is my home town and I’m keen to build my business’ here.

Working closely with Ramsey Town Commissioners and Mansail has made the process very smooth and we look forward to developing the relationship with both parties.

The build is well underway, working with local business’ - and we aim to be open ready for the season. We hope you all enjoy our pizzeria and look forward to welcoming you soon!”
