The Minister of the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) and Director of Highway Services met with Ramsey Town Commissioners on the 21st December 2021 and had a positive meeting to discuss the planning application that the DOI had submitted for West Quay in Ramsey.
At that meeting the DOI and the Ramsey Commissioners agreed that both flood defences and works to the Quay were required.
The reduction in parking numbers of over 50 spaces within the town was of concern to the Commissioners and the people of Ramsey had clearly express this in at the public meetings and visitors book at the display of the plans in the Town Hall.
Following a request from Ramsey Town Commissioners the Department agreed to withdraw the current planning application and work together on a scheme that delivers flood protection for the town, reconstructs the highway and retains more parking.
