Rates

Local authorities are funded through a system of domestic and commercial rates. Individual properties are assessed and given a rateable value which forms the basis of the rates charges levied by the local authority, Manx Utilities, the burial authority and any other authority funded by the levy of a rate.

The rate year runs from 1st April to the 31st March and local authorities are required to set a rate for the forthcoming rate year no later than the 31st January.

Ramsey Town Commissioners' rates are collected by the Isle of Man Treasury which issues a combined rates bill to every property. Rates are due and payable on the 1st April each year and where full payment is made before the 30th June a discount of 5% may be claimed.

The Ramsey Town Commissioners issue an annual rates summary which can be downloaded by clicking here.

Audited Accounts

Local authorities are required to prepare accounts in accordance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2018 and which are subject to the provisions of the Audit Act 2006

Copies of the audited financial statements for the authority can be downloaded here.
